I am a research student of Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I previously practiced law (legal aid) in Oakland, California prior to embarking on my current research.
My research topic is regarding social and legal aspects of the commercial-sexual exploitation of children (CSEC).
The purpose of this blog is to analyze current news stories regarding CSEC. Because CSEC is a global problem, stories published regarding various parts of the world will be examined and critiqued while making best efforts to provide social, legal and global context.
The analysis of social inequalities and the use of language in media reporting on CSEC are keys to understanding and communicating about the problem.
